Fringe has invaded my closet this summer and the boho in me couldn’t be happier! I’ve purchased three fringe layering pieces this summer and love adding them to my foundational summer outfits. I may just wear summer fringe all season long!
I love floral patterns but have very little in my wardrobe. This cheery, colorful piece is just what my summer wardrobe wanted. When I saw it, I couldn’t resist buying it!
It’s a very lightweight and comfortable fabric – a soft rayon – which will keep you cool in warm temps. I wore my fringed kimono over a navy blue tank top and denim shorts. And for shoes I wore flat Sam Edelman thong ankle sandals I bought last year (similar), which have been my go-to sandals this summer. So comfortable and they go with everything!
I like the way the fringe gives this floral kimono a little edge and texture, making it not too sweet.
I would also wear this fringed kimono with jeans and over a simple sundress. It’s such a fun and feminine layering piece!
While away on the Bill Turns 50 Trip last month, I did a bit of shopping. Madonna Inn – a kitschy place off the 101 in San Luis Obispo which I’ll be blogging about soon – has a clothing shop that carries the most unique apparel!
I had a blast shopping there and found quite a few pieces to bring home with me. This vest by Double D Ranchwear (I can’t find this specific piece anywhere online but this is the poncho version) was definitely an impulse buy.
I bought it at the start of our two-week trip and each time I looked at it, I thought I’d made a mistake. Was it too loud? What would I wear it with? Can I pull off a western look?
Once I arrived home and had a chance to style it, I knew it was a keeper. Sometimes it takes awhile to come around to styles that are new to you! I can do a lot with this fringed vest when fall rolls around.
I styled my colorful vest with the denim shorts I am wearing in each outfit, a simple black tank, my Adora by Adrienne bag, very old black sandals and a Leather Bracelet in Black Licorice from Shop The Rich Life.
While staying at Hotel del Coronado, I came across this Nic + Zoe Long Textured Fringed Cardigan (currently on sale) at one of the clothing shops inside the hotel. I fell in love with it right away but Bill advised me to think about it for a day or two. So I did and guess what? I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
At the end of day two, right before it closed for the evening, I ran down to the shop and bought it, relieved it was still there. I have worn it four times, including to Broadway Under The Stars, since then!
What I love about this piece is how the fringe is long and dramatic and the knit is so breathable. A summertime winner in my book!
And this neutral color goes with just about anything.
Fringe had added some playfulness to my summer wardrobe this season!
Do you have any fringe in your wardrobe?
If so, are you wearing it this summer?
Make it a rich day!
