I have worn my fair share of whites, brights, floral prints, pastels, and lightweight cotton and linen this summer. I am ready for some deep, rich autumn shades, weightier fabrics and layers even if the weather isn’t – or not yet anyway.
Stella Carakasi came out with their newest collection, Early Fall 2017, a few days ago and I instantly fell in love with two colors featured prominently in the collection: Caper and Pimento.
Caper is a dark olive green shade and Pimento is a red rust color. I have been told since I was kid that olive greens and deep reds are flattering for my skin tone and hair color. I happen to agree and am excited to see these colors trending this fall.
The pants are unbelievably soft, made with Stella Carakasi’s Natural Lux™ organic cotton French terry. I could wear these pants everyday and will definitely be taking them to France with me next month along with the sweater and tank.
I love the way the Pimento and Caper colors complement each other so naturally. And they go nicely with tawny brown and cognac too.
I added a statement necklaceI have been wearing often. Last fall I bought this stunning stone pendant and work of art from my friend and jewelry artist Michelle Hoting. It originally had a rose-gold toned chain attached but I decided I wanted something heavier and bolder to complement its size.
I reached out to my friend Julie of KayandStar to see if she’d be willing to come up with new design using beads. To my delight, she was eager to help so I sent it off to her. Weeks later, she mailed it back and this is how it looks. I absolutely love it! It feels very “me” and I will cherish and wear it often. I especially love that it was made by two creative, brilliant and talented women I adore and admire.
